I appreciate that this was not labeled a traffic "accident," but a collision. An accident suggests it was some fateful, unavoidable turn of events. And certainly pedestrians must be aware and cautious. But there are hundreds of collisions every year on San Fran cisco streets, that leave pedestrians with serious, and too often fatal, injuries. At some point, we're all pedestrians. So let's drive like it. (Cabrillo Street near 46th Avenue. And yes, toward the end of the day the sun is directly in the eyes of westbound drivers. Pedestrians need to remember that; we have the most to lose.)
