This Is A Prius-Free Zone.


I saw a couple free car shows on a recent weekend. One was the 3rd Annual benefit for the Washington High School auto shop. And the other was a monthly gathering at Ocean Beach of the auto enthusiast nation and it's many different tribes.


The Von Zipper, a tribute to the WWI ace "Red Baron." And to the crazy custom car model the builder enjoyed as a child.



This is an electric kit car. It's built, torn down, and rebuilt by successive auto shop classes.




Looks like it required major surgery to create this shortened version of a 1950's Chevy.


There were plenty of motorcycles, with Harleys being the overwhelming favorite.


The lush interior of a 1941 Cadillac convertible.






The lowrider segment was well represented. The artistry of these hydraulic cylinders!




I drove a Plymouth Duster in high school; it looked nothing like this.
