In the days and weeks following Christmas, San Franciscans deposit their trees out at the curb for pickup by Recology. Some hardy locals shlep their trees, or ones left at the curb, down to Ocean Beach for a late night BurningMan/Viking Burial sendoff. Anybody who's seen the safety commercials by the local fire department, knows a dried-up Christmas tree goes up like a roman candle. (Noriega & Great Highway, Ocean Beach)
