It's been a particularly dark, wet, and windy winter so far. Here are some things I've seen.
The storm winds have damaged almost 300 trees in San Francisco, including this one in front of the building where I work on Mission Street.
Bright colors take a beating during winter. I saw this on Market Street near Gough.
Dead tree. Thriving mushrooms. On the approach to the Legion of Honor museum.
The monument to San Francisco's early seamen, in the former cemetery, and now Lincoln Park golf course, surrounding the Legion.
These are some intricately sculpted curls. Lorenzo Ottoni's "Portrait Bust of Mafeo Barbarini, Prince of Palestrina" circa 1686, in the permanent collection of the Legion.
Sunset brings a break in the storm. Seen from the Lincoln Park golf course.
Christmas time on Market & Van Ness, outside the 24-7 All Star Cafe.
Santa can get in and out of anywhere. Christmas Day at Fort Point under the GGB.
